Sharing a Mobile for 2FA is a Mess
Every Aussie business hits these the moment more than one person needs to log in.
One phone, one person
Codes only land on whoever owns the SIM — everyone else waits.
Stuck in a meeting
The code holder is heads-down with their phone on silent and can't be interrupted.
On leave, on a plane, asleep
The code holder is unreachable and the login is blocked until they're back.
Offboarding nightmare
When a staff member leaves the business, the 2FA number leaves with them.
Single-user accounts
Plenty of online tools only allow one login full stop — sharing a number is the only option.
Per-seat pricing pain
Most SaaS tools charge per user. Adding a seat just to receive a 2FA code can cost more than the tool itself.
How Texto Solves It
Three steps, no extra seats on the tools you already pay for.
Get a dedicated Australian number
Add a real Aus mobile number to your Texto account for $15/mo + GST. Activated in minutes.
Use it as your 2FA number
Set it as the SMS verification number on the online tools your team logs into.
Whole team sees every code
Codes land in your shared Texto inbox in real time. No extra seats on the upstream tool needed.
Two Ways to Read the Codes
Pick what fits your team. Mix and match per number if you like.
Log in to Texto
Each team member gets their own Texto login, protected with an authenticator-app 2FA on their account. Codes appear in the shared inbox the moment they arrive. This is the secure default — codes never leave Texto's onshore-encrypted inbox unless you choose to forward them.
Forward to a shared inbox
Prefer not to log in? Auto-forward every incoming SMS to a shared team inbox (e.g. 2fa@yourcompany.com.au), Slack, Teams, or any webhook endpoint. Heads up — once a code is in email, it's only as secure as that inbox. For high-value accounts we recommend the login route.
Forward Codes Straight to Slack or Teams
No native Slack or Teams app to install — Texto bridges via the channel's own email address, or via the inbound webhook for power users. Pick the path that fits your workspace.
Forward to Slack
- In Slack, open the channel you want codes to land in. Click the channel name → Integrations → Send emails to this channel. Slack generates an address like
team-2fa-abc123@yourworkspace.slack.com. - In Texto, go to Automations → turn on Forward inbound SMS to email and paste that address.
- Done. Every code posts to the channel within a second or two of arriving.
Heads up: Slack's email-to-channel feature is on paid plans only and may be locked down by your workspace admin.
Trigger on Texto's Inbound Message Webhook, action = Send Channel Message in Slack. Works on any Slack plan and lets you format the message, strip everything but the code, or route different senders to different channels.
Forward to Microsoft Teams
- In Teams, find the channel → click ⋯ → Get email address. Copy the address (looks like
channel.abc123@apac.teams.ms). - In Texto, go to Automations → enable Forward inbound SMS to email and paste it in.
- Codes land in the channel as a new post, visible to everyone with channel access.
Heads up: your Microsoft 365 tenant admin needs to allow channel email. If "Get email address" is missing, that's why.
Trigger a flow on Texto's Inbound Message Webhook, action = Post message in a chat or channel. Same idea — works regardless of tenant settings and gives you full control over the format.
A few honest notes:
• Texto's email forward currently goes to one address per account — pick a shared inbox or a Slack/Teams channel email, not both.
• Need multiple destinations, or per-sender routing? Use the Inbound Webhook with Zapier/Make/Power Automate and fan it out from there.
• Once a code is in a Slack or Teams channel, it's only as secure as that channel. For high-value logins, the safest option is still logging into Texto directly.
