    Who Account Hierarchy is For

If your business is more than one team, more than one brand, or more than one customer at a time, sub-accounts keep everything tidy.

    Multi-location businesses

Each store, clinic or branch gets its own sub-account. Head office stays in control of the whole operation from one parent account.

    Franchises

Every franchisee operates independently in their own sub-account, while the franchisor sets the standard and (optionally) foots the bill.

    Agencies

Manage SMS for each client in a separate sub-account. No mixing of contacts, replies or campaigns — clean separation by design.

    SaaS platforms

Embed Texto inside your own product and spin up a sub-account per customer, so their messaging stays isolated from everyone else's.

    How It's Structured

One parent account sits on top. Sub-accounts sit underneath, each with their own users, dedicated numbers, contacts, conversations and message history. Sub-accounts are walled off from each other and from the parent's own messages, but the parent admin can log into any sub-account from their account switcher to help out, audit usage or run a campaign on their behalf.

    Two Ways to Handle Credits

Pick whichever billing setup fits how your business actually operates. You can switch modes at any time.

    Shared balance

Sub-accounts send freely. Every SMS draws from the parent's credit pool. Best when head office, the agency, or the SaaS platform is footing the bill for everyone underneath.

    Allocated credits

The parent admin moves credits from their own balance into a sub-account's pool. Sub-accounts can only spend what they've been given. To recall unused credits, allocate a negative amount and they go straight back to the parent's balance.

Parent accounts can also set volume limits on sub-accounts to manage usage.

By default, the parent admin can log into any sub-account from their account switcher. If you need account switching removed so that the parent account cannot log in to sub-accounts, .

What the Parent Admin Can Do

Run the whole hierarchy from one Accounts page.

    Create sub-accounts

Spin up a new sub-account and send an invite link straight to the owner — they're up and running in minutes.

    Allocate credits

Move credits from your balance into any sub-account's pool. To recall unused credits, allocate a negative amount and they return to your balance.

    Assign dedicated numbers

Hand a dedicated Aussie sending number from the parent account to any sub-account that needs one.

    Share Sender IDs and numbers

Let a sub-account send from the parent account's registered Sender IDs and dedicated numbers. Off by default, switched on per sub-account by the parent. An ACMA-registered Sender ID can only be used by the business (ABN) it was registered to — sharing across locations, brands or departments of that same business is fine.

    Invite team members

Drop users straight into a sub-account's team. Unlimited team members, no extra cost.

    See every balance

View each sub-account's credit balance from the parent's Accounts page so nothing runs dry unexpectedly.

    2FA for every user

Every user across the hierarchy — parent admin, sub-account owners and team members — can switch on two-factor authentication using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy. It's free, takes a minute, and is recommended for everyone, especially when multiple teams share the same parent.

    • TOTP via any standard authenticator app
    • Set per-user from each account's settings
    • Works alongside Texto's standard email + password login
